SHARE

The Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems (CREWS) Initiative, in collaboration with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), is organizing a Learning Lab at the 2025 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR). The session, titled “Delivering Early Warning to Everyone: People-Centered and Gender-Responsive Approaches”, will take place on 6 June 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 CET, in the Lausanne Room, Varembé Conference Centre (CCV), Geneva.

What to Expect

The Learning Lab will bring together speakers and participants from government, civil society, youth, and organizations representing persons with disabilities to explore how early warning systems can be more inclusive and accessible.

Key features of the session include:

  • A fishbowl-style dialogue and interactive exercises
  • Practical examples of inclusive early warning services
  • Discussion on co-design and community engagement

This session supports the Early Warnings for All initiative and links directly to the Sendai Framework’s goal of ensuring early warnings reach everyone.
